Things to do in Hastings, NE

Many of our residents are from the Hastings, Nebraska area, so they naturally appreciate all our region has to offer. There are plenty of cultural, sporting, shopping and dining attractions to explore in the area. We are located a short distance from Hastings College, where many of our residents enjoy frequent lectures, music, theater and arts performances.

Here are just a few local attractions in and around Hastings that our residents enjoy and recommend to others. And remember – off-site local transportation is complimentary, so when you want to make a day of shopping, dining, or visiting one of the many local historical attractions, we’ll be glad to help you get there.

The Nebraska History Museum, the Hastings Museum, and the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer  are uniquely rewarding destinations to learn about local history, browse archives, see local exhibitions, and enjoy evolving student art galleries. Enjoy an afternoon at Prairie Loft with your grandchildren or other young family members. This growing and evolving interactive museum is dedicated to historic preservation, outdoor learning and agricultural education.

Hastings boasts several well-maintained and beautifully landscaped area parks, including Heartwell Park, Chautauqua Park, Hastings Dog Park, and Crozier Park.

Music lovers will enjoy the Hastings Symphony Orchestra and a wide variety of musical guests at The Lark, a nonprofit performance and gathering space in downtown Hastings.
