Vaccines All Around

At this time (January 26, 2021), all 14 of our communities have completed their first vaccination clinics, with several locations already having completed their second clinics and beginning to prepare for third rounds. We know this step has been eagerly awaited by residents, families and our team members, and we could not be more pleased with the rollout of the vaccine across all three states (Nebraska, Iowa and Arizona).

We are pleased to report that nearly 95% of our current residents and approximately 60% of associates have chosen to receive the vaccine upon first clinic dates, with more initial inoculations scheduled for upcoming clinics. We have seen very minimal side effects, most of which included soreness at the injection site, all of which resolved within 36 hours.

Dedication to Protocols

While this is certainly a momentous time that gives us hope for a return to normalcy, we must remain dedicated to safety protocols we have come to know over the past year. The usage of masks and social distancing will still be in effect for the time being, and visitations will continue at our communities in the same fashion they have been occurring up to this point. We will know more about the reduction of these standards as case counts in the communities and counties shift over the coming months.

Once we have a more concrete understanding of the correlation between the vaccine and community case counts, we will be able to discuss adjusting protocols. For now, we continue to be grateful for the support and understanding of our residents, their families and our team members. We continue walking alongside one another, following safety guidelines, in order to keep those most vulnerable safe. We truly are Heritage United.

If you have any questions about our COVID-19 protocols, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
