What To Expect With Heritage Pointe Memory Care

Our certified and attentive care team, on-site 24/7 embraces compassion, trust, respect, and fun in every aspect of our residents’ care. We take the time to get to know the little things that matter, like their favorite cookie flavors or what time they like to walk in the morning. All associates are trained in the Montessori Method of dementia care. Our unique training program reflects a person-centered positive approach blending the principles of Maria Montessori, Teepa Snow, and our team of internal certified dementia experts.

Our West Omaha community is a cozy, secure haven tailored to those with forms of cognitive impairments. We offer personalized social activities, music, games, and crafts designed to stimulate the mind and nurture the spirit of each resident. Transitioning a beloved family member to a memory care community can be emotional and challenging, but at Heritage Pointe, we provide a seamless, supportive experience, ensuring your loved one feels cared for and understood every step of the way.

Personalized Memory Care Services

Portraits®

In our specialized memory care program, known as Portraits®, we take a personalized approach to each resident’s daily experience. Embracing the principles of the Montessori method, we tailor schedules and roles to focus on each resident’s unique abilities and individuality. A personalized activity guide is developed to help residents succeed with everyday activities that are best suited to their abilities, interests, and needs. For example, if your dad used to be a plumber, we might create a fidget board with different pipes and fittings as a multisensory activity for him to enjoy.

This approach promotes independence, creates a sense of purpose and value, and provides leisure and everyday life engagement activities. By showing our residents how to be active participants in their own lives, we enrich their quality of life and ensure they feel valued and engaged, no matter where they are in their disease process. Watch this video to discover how Portraits makes Heritage Communities’ approach to memory care so different.
