What To Expect With The Heritage at Sagewood Memory Care

Embracing a trusting, understanding relationship with individuals receiving memory care means treating all residents with dignity and respect. Our personalized care plans are tailored to your loved one’s interests, whether it’s their love for cleaning or passion for painting.

Our associates use a tried-and-true Montessori Method of dementia care rooted in principles from Maria Montessori and Teepa Snow. This positive, person-centered approach helps your loved one to be an active participant in their own life and decisions. Our exceptional care team is available 24/7, dedicated to creating a daily routine filled with compassion, respect, and meaningful activities.

We understand that moving a loved one into memory care is a big change, and we work hard to make the transition as smooth as possible, ensuring they feel welcome and loved from day one. Our memory care residents enjoy a variety of enriching activities, from religious services to cardio-drumming, all in a safe and comforting environment at The Heritage at Sagewood.

Personalized Memory Care Services

Portraits®

The Heritage at Sagewood thrives on creating opportunities for individuals to express their passions and engage with their community in a way that is meaningful to them. Our Montessori-based memory care program, Portraits®, personalizes the daily routine of your loved one to their most significant interests, giving them a sense of purpose in our community. For example, your loved one could be revisiting their days as a homemaker by helping dust the common area or help with shredding papers as a nod to their career working in an office.

Instead of trying to teach our residents new skills, we enhance their strengths and abilities in a way that helps them feel like they truly belong in our community. At all stages of your loved one’s disease process, Portraits® gives residents the ability to enhance their quality of life. See this video to learn firsthand how Portraits® helps us offer unparalleled memory care.

If someone you love is living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of age-related dementia, we can help. Our specialized approach to Memory Care will help your loved one feel more like themselves – happier, more engaged and appreciated.

Family Involvement and Support

Deciding to move a loved one into memory care can be pretty emotional for you as a family member. The Heritage at Sagewood holds supportive group meetings for the families of our residents to allow them to exchange experiences, learn more about their loved one’s disease, and gain skills to better communicate with those living with cognitive impairments. Any new information we learn or observe will be quickly relayed to you, keeping you a vital part of this process. Family members and friends are invited to participate in community events and to visit their loved one any time.
