What To Expect With The Heritage at Legacy Memory Care

Compassion, trust, respect, fun, and always learning are our core values and the cornerstones of our care philosophy at The Heritage at Legacy. We follow the Montessori method of dementia care. This positive, expert-approved approach puts your loved one at the center, treating them with dignity and encouraging active involvement and decision-making. These values guide our daily interactions and care processes in our effort to provide the highest quality of care in a loving and supportive environment. Our memory care community and homes are designed to provide a secure and cozy setting tailored specifically for those with memory loss. We offer private and semi-private apartment-style residences with direct access to comfortable common areas.

All associates are trained in the Montessori Method of dementia care. Our unique training program reflects a person-centered positive approach blending the principles of Maria Montessori, Teepa Snow, and our team of internal certified dementia experts. Our highly trained caregivers work closely with residents and their families to develop personalized care plans that cater to individual needs and preferences. By fostering a warm and joyful atmosphere, we help your loved one maintain their independence and dignity while offering the support they need to navigate daily life with confidence.

Personalized Memory Care Services

Portraits® and Snapshots

Our senior living community takes a two-tiered approach to memory care through our Portraits® and Snapshots program. Adaptable to the ever-changing needs of our residents, both programs reflect our commitment to delivering personalized and compassionate care that meets the unique needs of every individual.

Snapshots is designed to be a middle-of-the-road option for residents with mild cognitive impairment in assisted living. Snapshots offers increased supportive cues and reminders to promote brain health and wellness. This is done through thoughtfully designed interactions that provide assisted living residents with opportunities for social engagement and mental stimulation.

Our exclusive Portraits® program for memory care residents at The Heritage at Legacy is based on the multisensory activities inspired by Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophies. This unique program is designed to help residents remain as independent as possible while engaging in meaningful activities that help preserve and strengthen their existing faculties. The programming is individualized and tailored around your loved one’s past occupation, hobbies, talents, and interests. If your mom or dad spent time tending the garden, then as part of their unique personalized Portraits® programming, we may provide an opportunity to arrange flowers for our table centerpieces or work in our community garden. Residents who were musicians may be encouraged to share their talent at the piano as they are so inclined.

Through this carefully curated program, we encourage social interaction, enhance self-esteem, and provide opportunities for your loved ones to contribute to their environment, making each day fulfilling and enjoyable.

This is living better with specialized care.
